2+2 American Bachelor’s Degree Program

How to Apply

A complete application will have the following:

  • A filled-in application form with essays on separate sheets
  • Academic credentials (copies of prior school and college work from 9th grade onwards)
  • Non-refundable application fee of INR 5000/- as a Demand Draft made out to The National Management School payable in India
  • Two letters of reference from people who know you
  • Official score reports for the SAT , sent to NMS DI Code: 7900-National Management School

Application Process

  • Submit the completed application form and the application fee of Rs. 5000/- payable to The National Management School, India
  • Students who meet our admission criteria will receive a provisional letter of admission
  • Submit the Broward College International Application form, along with a deposit of Rs. 25,000/-.
  • Once the Broward College admission is confirmed, the student will pay the first term fees. The deposit will be adjusted towards the first term fees.

College Credit for Prior Work

College credit may be given for prior work. Each application for credit is evaluated individually, and on a case by case basis. There may be a cost associated with such an evaluation.

Advanced Placement (AP)

Broward College participates in the Advanced Placement (AP) examination program offered through the College Board (http://www.collegeboard.org/). Students earning a score of 3, 4, or 5 on the nationally administered examinations shall be eligible to earn BC credits. Students are awarded credits only. Grades are not given for AP courses, and AP credits are not included in the calculation of grade point averages. In order to award credit, Broward College requires an official Scores Report; a candidate’s copy is not acceptable.

Cambridge AICE (British A-Level) Exams

The AICE program is an international, advanced secondary curriculum and assessment program equivalent to the British system of”A-Levels.” Passing scores of E and above (E thru A) are eligible for credits of different levels.

CLEP (College Level Examination Program)

Students who complete computer-based CLEP and receive a scaled score of 50 and higher (“C” Level) will receive credit.

International Baccalaureate (IB) Program

Post-secondary credit for student participation in the IB diploma program shall be limited to students who earn a minimum of 4 on a 7-point scale, on an individual subject examination conducted by the IB office.

Tuition Fees and Estimate of Costs

The tuition fees in India for the first two years are:

Year 1: USD 9000/- Year 2: USD 9000/-

Tuition fees in the USA depend on the university to which the student transfers.

Estimate of Costs

The fees for the 2+2 American Bachelor’s Degree Program is payable in India to The National Management School for years 1 and 2, and in the United States to the university to which the student transfers for years 3 and 4. For the purposes of the examples given below, assume an exchange rate of USD 1 = INR 60/-.

In India

The National Management School charges fees in US Dollars, payable partly in USD and partly in INR. Actual amounts due in Indian Rupees may vary depending on the exchange rates prevailing at the time of payment of fees.

Books, laptop, travel, housing and other living expenses are additional expenses.

The fees in India are payable before the start of each term. There are three terms in an academic year and the USD 9000/- will be split into three equal installments of USD 3000/- each. Your invoice will state how much of the USD 3000/- per term is to be paid in USD and how much in INR.

In the USA

Tuition fees in the USA depend on the university to which the student transfers. Below is given an estimate, based on the following assumptions:

– Assume Out-of-state annual tuition fees in the USA of USD 18,000/- (this is an average amount)

The above tuition fees are only an estimate. Out-of-state tuition fees in the USA can vary from USD 12,000/- per year to USD 50,000/- per year. Payment schedules depend on the university that the student joins.

Monthly expenses can vary from USD 750/- per year, depending on how the student chooses to live.

Admission Criteria

Students must complete 12th grade or its equivalent to be eligible for the program. In addition they must complete an aptitude test.

The admission requirements for the Broward College AA program offered at NMS are:

A and AS Levels (12th standard in the British system) Diploma Completion Grades E and above may qualify for college credit
O Levels (10th standard in the British system) Completion of minimum 4 subjects in core areas (science, math, language, social sciences) Grade C and above qualifies for admission but not for college credit

Students who have not completed SAT or ACT will be called to do the PERT at our expense. This is a three hour internet based test, similar to the SAT.
